The GS805 owner's guide: what the manual does not tell you
The maker publishes the instructions for the GS805. This is the rest: what an operator learns in the first months, written from running one inside a Madrid fitness studio since May 2026. The software it comes with, the card reader, the menu and prices, calibration, supplies, cleaning, the waste bucket, a routine that works, and where the official resources are. Nothing here replaces the manual for installation or repairs.
The machine, in one paragraph
A GS805 is a protein shake vending machine made by Wuhan Gao Sheng Wei Ye Technology Co., Ltd in Wuhan, China: seven powder containers of about a kilogram each (six drinks and one for an add-on such as creatine), a water tank of about 40 litres, usually two 20-litre jugs, with a pump that delivers about 20 millilitres a second, a cup dispenser of about 100 cups, a mixer, a delivery chamber, and a waste bucket that fills after roughly 40 to 50 drinks. On the front, an Android touch screen with the maker's app and a cashless card reader on an MDB bus, Nayax on most machines sold in Europe. At the time of writing the maker lists it at about 5,100 US dollars for small quantities and less in volume; European distributors resell it for more, with the reader, import and set-up on top. It is also sold across Europe under distributors' and operators' own names: the wrap changes, the machine does not.
The software it comes with, and your options
- The app on the screen
- Shows the menu, asks the reader for the payment, tells the machine board to make the drink, reports each sale and its stock countdown to the maker's cloud. In Spanish and English on ours.
- The maker's cloud portal
- Products per account and a shelf per machine with its prices, limited-time discounts, batches of free-drink codes, playlists for the screen, a sales list with daily totals, and a stock countdown per slot. No alerts, no connection status, no history, no API. What it holds in detail is on GS805 remote monitoring.
- Option one: keep it, add VendCaptain Connect
- Nothing changes on the machine. VendCaptain reads the cloud with your own account every hour and adds the failed payments, the alerts, the stock estimates, the service checklist, the reports and the card-customer analytics. The pilot works this way.
- Option two: VendCaptain Run on the screen
- VendCaptain's app replaces the maker's app as the seller. Same machine, no new hardware, the maker's app stays installed switched off. Adds exact stock, faults by name, a maintenance switch, the stamp card, a game while the drink is made, and every product on one screen with add-ons as options. How both work is on GS805 integrations.
Payments
- How a payment works
- The screen asks the reader for the price, the customer taps, the reader processes the card over its own modem and answers approved or declined. The money is taken at that moment, before the drink is made. The machine never sees card data.
- What this means for you
- A drink the machine fails to make is still charged unless the software on the screen reverses it. The older factory app never did; the updated one does. Check your Nayax Core transactions for settled charges with no drink, and decide who refunds them and how often. The whole subject is on GS805 and Nayax.
- Which cards
- On our machine, in Spain: Visa and Mastercard contactless work; Discover is not accepted; American Express needs its own merchant agreement before Nayax enables it. Ours takes cards only, no cash.
- Where the money is
- In Nayax Core, Nayax's own portal: every transaction with its authorisation, settlement and refund. Export the Dynamic Transactions Monitor report monthly with the results limit set above your row count, in one language, always the same one.
Calibration: grams, not seconds
The GS805 doses powder by running an auger for a time, and it has no scale. Every powder flows differently, and the same powder flows differently in August and in January: density, humidity and auger wear all move the grams per second. The factory figure is about four grams per second. A recipe written in seconds is therefore a guess about your powder, and the drink that tastes right in the showroom tastes thin after a bag change.
What works: run each container for a fixed ten seconds into a cup on a 0.1 gram scale, weigh it, and write the grams per second next to the container. Repeat whenever a container changes powder. Keep a scale and a weighing cup in the service kit. On VendCaptain Run this is a button on the operator screen: the machine runs the container for exactly ten seconds and drops a cup, you type the weight, up to three times, and the kiosk refuses a set more than ten percent apart. Recipes are then grams, and a drink is only served when every container it uses is calibrated. The creatine add-on from the seventh container is offered only once that container is calibrated, five grams for fifty cents on ours.
Supplies: powder, cups, water, lots
- Powder
- About a kilogram per container. Nothing measures it, so the only stock figure you will ever have is the one you keep. Log every refill with the date, the container and the amount; one container on ours was refilled and never logged, and the estimate stayed 47 days stale while the container was 85 percent full. From the paper era we also found 100-gram placeholder entries where the real bags were 500 grams. Write the real number. Kept that way, the estimate holds: on our machine it has matched what we find in the containers, visit after visit, even though it is only each drink's recipe subtracted from the last refill.
- Lots and expiry
- Write the lot number and the expiry date of every bag when it goes in. VendCaptain flags lots expired or expiring within 30 days on the service page; an expired lot was flagged in one of our containers before an October visit, which is the point.
- Cups
- About 100 per dispenser. The machine refuses to serve without them. Count them at every visit; Run counts one per drink and warns when they run low.
- Water
- About 40 litres, two jugs. The pump should never run dry. Run warns at two litres and stops at half a litre, once the first fill has been recorded.
- Allergens
- Post them. Ours lists milk, soy, gluten, egg, peanuts and tree nuts as possible cross-contamination, on the machine and on a page the customer can open from it.
Cleaning, the waste bucket and the visit
- The waste bucket
- Every drink sends rinse water to it, it fills after roughly 40 to 50 drinks, it has no sensor, and the machine keeps pouring into a full one until somebody smells it. Empty and clean it at every visit and note how many drinks it held. Run counts drinks and stops selling at 38 until it is emptied and confirmed; Connect counts from the last emptying you logged.
- The checklist
- Ours has eight steps, six required: mixer, dispensing area, drip tray, waste tank, interior cabinet, powder spills; two as needed. We made those two as-needed after noticing that scoring them pressured the crew into ticking work they had not done. A checklist people lie to is worse than no checklist.
- Photos and reports
- A photo per step, on the phone, at the machine. VendCaptain turns the visit into a PDF report, keeps follow-ups, and shows service overdue after seven days, red at fourteen, with compliance under 80 percent flagged.
- Temperatures
- The machine is configured with hot and cold water thresholds, 80 to 85 degrees and 3 to 8 degrees on ours. It does not report readings, so a thermometer in the kit is the only way to check.
The routine that works
Every day, from your phone
- Did yesterday's sales arrive, machine by machine. A quiet machine is either broken or forgotten.
- Any payment with no drink? Refund it today, not at month end.
- Cups since the last service, and the bucket count against its capacity.
Every visit
- Refill and log it: container, amount, lot, expiry.
- Empty and clean the bucket and write the count.
- The checklist, with photos.
- Make one normal drink before you leave. After any test, always.
Every month
- Export Nayax for the month and reconcile charges with no drink.
- Compare machines: cups per day, not revenue per fleet. Visit the ones that fell.
- Check lots expiring in the next 30 days.
- Recalibrate any container that changed powder.
- Read what each price change did before making the next one. In one operator's 25 machines, a 40 percent rise halved the cups.
Everything in these three lists is a page or an email in VendCaptain, from the account you already have. Start a free pilot.

Questions owners ask
What does a GS805 cost to buy?
The maker listed it at about 5,100 US dollars for one to nineteen machines when we checked in October 2026, with lower prices in volume. Distributors in Europe resell it for more, and the card reader, shipping, import duties and set-up come on top. Ask your supplier for the full landed price.
What does the machine need on site?
A socket, water (a supply or jugs to the tank), a network (Wi-Fi or a SIM for the screen and the reader), and about half a square metre of floor. Ask your supplier for the exact electrical and water specification for your version; we do not publish numbers we have not measured.
How long does a drink take?
About 85 seconds from the tap to the drink in the customer's hand, on our machine. Something to do during those 85 seconds is worth having; see loyalty and promotions.
Does the GS805 take cash?
The maker offers cash options; ours is contactless only, which keeps the service visit short and the machine lighter to run. If you take cash, add emptying and counting to the visit routine.
Can I change the software on the screen?
Yes. The screen is an Android panel and the maker's app is an app on it. VendCaptain Run is installed beside it and becomes the seller; the maker's app stays installed, switched off, and the service screen can switch back. Nothing is changed in the hardware.
What should I check before buying a used GS805?
The app version on the screen (older ones never refund a failed vend), which card reader is fitted and whether its Nayax account can be transferred, the state of the augers and the mixer, whether every container has a known calibration, and whether the previous owner can hand over the machine's account in the maker's cloud, since that is where its history lives.
My machine has another name on it. Is it a GS805?
Very likely, if it matches this page: seven powder containers in a row behind the door, six for drinks and one for an add-on, an Android touch screen at the top running the maker's app, a dispensing window marked AUTO with a card reader beside it, and a water tank fed from jugs inside the cabinet. The GS805 is sold across Europe by distributors and operators under their own names, with a custom wrap; the machine, the maker's app and the maker's cloud are the same underneath. If yours matches, everything on this page applies, and so does VendCaptain Connect, which needs only the account you use for the maker's cloud. If you are not sure, send us a photo of the open door.
